Leg Angioplasty Cost in Singapore
What determines the quote for angioplasty and stenting of the leg arteries, the Ministry of Health fee benchmarks for the surgeon's fee, and how to get a written estimate.
Short answer: the cost of leg angioplasty and stenting depends on which arteries are narrowed or blocked, how complex the treatment is, which devices are used, the anaesthesia and whether you stay in hospital. We do not publish a price list, because the right plan and the right hospital for you set the cost. Once your plan is clear, the clinic team gives you a written estimate and helps you check your cover. The Ministry of Health's fee benchmarks for the surgeon's fee are listed below for reference.
What determines your quote?
| Factor | How it affects the cost |
|---|---|
| Your scan findings | The artery treated and the type of narrowing or blockage decide how complex the procedure is. Whether a stent is appropriate depends on the artery, the lesion and the device evidence. |
| Devices | Balloons and stents are single-use devices. Atherectomy uses a catheter device to remove or modify plaque in selected cases. |
| Anaesthesia | Local anaesthetic is commonly used at the puncture, with other anaesthesia or sedation chosen for the situation. |
| Hospital stay | The team checks the puncture, circulation and general recovery before deciding when discharge is appropriate. |
| Follow-up | Follow-up assesses symptoms, foot health and the treated artery, sometimes using ultrasound. |
Infection, available arteries, general health and your priorities all influence the plan. The leg angioplasty and stenting guide explains the procedure, and PAD and poor leg circulation explains how the arteries are assessed first.
MOH fee benchmarks for surgeon fees: leg angioplasty and stenting
Singapore's Ministry of Health publishes fee benchmarks: recommended ranges for the surgeon's fee in the private sector. They cover the surgeon's fee only, not the hospital, anaesthetist, balloons, stents or other devices. Source: Ministry of Health, Hospital Bills and Fee Benchmarks (moh.gov.sg), figures checked on moh.gov.sg on 2 November 2026.
| Procedure (MOH description and code) | MOH surgeon-fee benchmark, inclusive of GST |
|---|---|
| Artery, stenosis or occlusion, percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA), simple (SD721A) | S$2,398 to S$4,905 |
| Artery, stenosis or occlusion (for example subintimal or below the knee), percutaneous angioplasty (PTA), difficult (SD720A) | S$7,303 to S$12,208 |
| Artery, various lesions, endovascular stent placement (SD728A) | S$2,834 to S$4,687 |
These are MOH's recommended ranges for routine cases in private hospitals, inclusive of GST, and are not Andrew Choong Vascular Surgery's fees.
Your written estimate states the procedure code or codes and each fee that applies to your plan.
Insurance
Our fees are governed by the insurance panels and schemes we participate in, and we comply with every panel's fee guidelines. The clinic team helps you check panel eligibility and any pre-authorisation your insurer requires. Please confirm eligibility with your insurer and our clinic before treatment. How do I get a written estimate?
- Book a consultation and scan. Bring your scan images and reports, medication list and previous procedure details.
- Dr Choong explains the findings and, if treatment is advisable, which approach he recommends and why.
- Once your treatment plan is clear, the clinic team gives you a written estimate. Ask what it includes: surgeon and anaesthetist fees, hospital charges, devices, tests and follow-up.
Common questions
Why does the cost vary so much between patients?
The artery treated, the type of blockage, the devices needed and the hospital stay all differ. The figure that matters is the written estimate you receive once your plan is clear.
Are the MOH benchmarks the clinic's fees?
No. They are the Ministry of Health's recommended ranges for the surgeon's fee in routine private-sector cases. They do not include hospital, anaesthetist or device charges.
Is a sudden cold, painful foot a reason to wait for an estimate?
No. A suddenly painful, cold or pale foot with new numbness, weakness or difficulty moving it is an emergency. Call 995.
