A fistula or graft is essential to haemodialysis, so changes in needling, flow, machine pressures, bleeding or arm swelling deserve attention. Dr Andrew Choong explains how narrowing, clotting and other access problems may be assessed before complete failure. He describes ultrasound, fistulography and selected treatments, including angioplasty or surgical revision, while emphasising early review with the dialysis and vascular teams. This video introduces the assessment process rather than prescribing one procedure for every access problem.
