Dr Andrew Choong explains how arterial disease can affect the heart, brain and legs, the shared risk factors, and why walking pain, foot pain at rest or a wound that will not heal needs assessment.
The video uses “leg attack” to highlight a threatened foot. Chronic limb-threatening ischaemia develops with longstanding severe circulation problems; a sudden painful, cold, pale, numb or weak foot can represent acute limb ischaemia and requires emergency care.
